Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Urban Bank handles information on this marketing site and when you open a personal or business product with us. It covers the contact form, account and card applications, loan enquiries, branch visits, and use of the Urban Bank app. It is written in plain language so you can read it on a phone or at a counter.
Urban Bank does not sell customer lists. We use the details you give us to run the product you asked for, to show fees before you confirm a transfer, and to reply when you write to us.
1. Information collection
We collect the name, contact details, and identification you give us when you open an account, apply for a card or loan, or send the contact form. The same customer record is used in the branch and in the app, so a hold or a fee is not described one way on paper and another way on the screen.
When you browse this website we may also collect technical data such as browser type, pages viewed, and the device you used. That data helps us keep the site working. It is not used to build a secret profile for sale to other companies.
If you join the newsletter, we store the email address you typed so we can send product notes you asked for. You can leave the list from the same form area or by writing to the address in site settings.
2. Collecting personal information
Personal information means details that identify you or your business. Typical examples are your full name, mobile number, email, postal address, date of birth, and the identification number you show when you open an account.
For a business product we may also collect the trading name, registration number, and the name of the person who is allowed to sign. For a card or loan we collect the income and balance figures you choose to give on the application, because those figures are used to explain the rate and the repayment calendar before anyone signs.
We collect this information from you directly. We do not buy contact lists. If a payment network or a regulator sends us a notice that belongs to your account, we attach it to the same record so you can read it in one place.
3. Contact by the company
We may contact you about the product you already have: a hold that needs a note, a card that was frozen, a loan date that is coming due, or a reply to a message you sent. We use the phone, email, or branch desk you gave us.
We do not use your number for unrelated sales calls. Newsletter mail goes only to people who asked to join the list. You can ask a branch to change how we reach you. If we cannot verify the request on the phone, we will finish it at the counter so the record stays accurate.
Questions about this policy, or about a specific entry on your record, go to the phone and email printed in site settings and in the footer of this site.
4. How we use and process personal data
We use personal data to open and run accounts, to show fees and limits before you confirm a transfer, to issue or replace a card, to set out a loan schedule, and to keep a single note for holds and incoming payments.
We also use it to reply to the contact form, to process a career application you sent, and to meet record-keeping rules that apply after a product closes. Processing is limited to the staff and systems that need the record for that work.
We do not use customer data to train public tools, and we do not publish your name, card number, or account number on this website.
5. Who we share it with
We share data with payment networks, card processors, and service providers who move Urban Bank transactions. They may use it only for that work. We share data with regulators when the law requires a report.
We do not sell, rent, or trade customer lists. If a provider changes, the new provider is bound to the same limit: they process Urban Bank work, they do not keep a copy for their own marketing.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account, card, and loan records for as long as the product is open. After it closes we keep the file for the period the law requires, then we delete or archive it so it is no longer used for day-to-day work.
Contact-form messages and newsletter addresses are kept while they are still needed to reply or to send the list you joined. You can ask us to remove a newsletter address at any time.
Website logs that do not identify you are kept only long enough to fix errors and then removed.
7. Data protection
Urban Bank staff see only the fields they need for the desk they work. Card numbers and security codes are not printed in full on this marketing site. Branch notes and app notes sit on the same customer record so a hold is not described twice in different words.
We use access controls, encryption in transit for this website, and a written process for lost or stolen devices. If a breach could affect you, we will tell you using the contact details on your record and we will say what we are doing next.
8. Cookies and this website
This site may store a small file on your device so pages load as designed, so a form can send, and so we can see which pages fail. These cookies are not used to follow you across other brands.
You can block cookies in your browser. Some parts of the site, such as a form, may then not finish. That choice does not close an Urban Bank account.
9. People under 18
Urban Bank does not open personal accounts for anyone under 18 except through a parent or guardian at a branch. Do not send a child’s identification through the public contact form.
If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without a guardian, we will delete it from the marketing systems and tell the guardian how to finish any product that was started in error.
10. Your choices
You can ask to see or correct your record at a branch or by emailing the address in site settings. We may need to confirm it is you before we change a name, a phone number, or an identification number.
You can close a newsletter subscription, ask us to stop a marketing note that is not required for your product, and request a copy of the contact-form message you sent. Account, card, and loan files follow the retention rules in section 6.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when a product, a provider, or the law changes. The new text will appear on this page. Continued use of the site or of an Urban Bank product after the update means you have read the new wording.
For privacy questions, use the phone and email in site settings, visit a branch, or write through the [contact](/contact) page. Product terms sit in our [Terms of Service](/terms).
