Transfers that finish the same day
When a transfer leaves today and when it waits.

Bank customer
Same-day on Urban means the debit leaves your account today and we submit it to the rail before the cut-off printed on the confirm screen. It does not mean the other bank has to credit the same calendar day. That second clock belongs to them.
If you confirm after the cut-off, the screen says Sends tomorrow. We do not silently queue it. You can still send, or wait until morning if the date on the credit matters.
Cut-off times
Domestic Urban-to-Urban is around the clock. Domestic to another local bank follows the weekday cut-off on the confirm screen, usually mid-afternoon. Cross-border corridors each have their own line. Public holidays at either end push the credit by a working day.
A transfer that is still In queue can be cancelled from Activity. Once it is Submitted, cancel is no longer available and you need a recall, which the other bank can refuse.
You get
A time stamp for when we submitted, and a second stamp if the other bank sends a reject. Rejected funds return to the same account, not to a suspense line you cannot see.

“Read the cut-off on the confirm screen every time. It moves on holidays. If the screen says tomorrow, that is the honest time, not a delay we added.”
Don't miss these
When same-day still waits
Name mismatches, a closed destination account, or a compliance pause all stop a same-day promise. Urban then shows Held — we will write. That email lists what we need. The debit can stay as a hold until the file is complete or we return the amount.
If you sent to the wrong account and the credit has already posted elsewhere, recall is a request, not a reversal we can force. Start that from the transfer detail the same day if you can.
Use the reference field for an invoice number. Do not put account numbers in the reference; they belong in the destination fields.
