When you send in a currency that is not the account currency, Urban Bank prints the rate next to the amount. You should not have to hunt a footnote for the figure that will hit the ledger.

The rate on the confirmation screen is the rate we use for that send, unless the screen says the rate will be fixed later. If it will be fixed later, that sentence is on the screen — not only in a PDF.

How it works

You choose destination and amount. The screen returns a conversion, a fee, and an arrival estimate when we have one. You confirm after those lines are visible. A banker at the desk uses the same order of lines: amount, rate, fee, then confirm.

Rates move. A quote on a product page is an example, not a live ticker. The live figure is the one on the confirm screen or the printout. If a campaign mentions a currency pair, it must not invent a number that confirm will not show.

Some corridors need extra checks. Those checks can add a hold. The hold note sits next to the amount, in the same words on app and at the branch.

What you see

• Send amount and converted amount on one screen
• The rate used for this send, or a clear “rate later” line
• The transfer fee before confirm
• Arrival in working days when we publish one — not “instant” if it is not

What this is not

Multi Currency is not a promise that every world currency is available, or that a rate on a blog post is still valid. Available corridors change. Ask at the desk or on the send screen for the pair you need.

We also do not hide a spread inside a “free FX” headline. If there is a margin, it is in the rate you are shown.

How to start

Open an Urban Bank account that may hold or send the currencies you need. Bring the purpose of the payment if the corridor asks for it. Use Talk to us or a Mumbai branch. Confirm only after the rate and the fee are both on the screen.
