Personal checking at Urban Bank is the everyday file for salary, bills, and a debit card. This page is the product plus, for new customers, a bonus of up to ₹25,000 when the current offer sheet says so. Existing customers keep the checking product; they do not automatically get a second welcome bonus.

The fee box is on the sheet before you sign. Overdraft, paper statements, and card replacement — if they cost money — are named there. A page on this site will not advertise a free account if the sheet has a fee.

Who it is for

• You want one checking file for day-to-day spend
• You can receive salary or other regular credits if you are aiming for the new-customer bonus
• You want debit, freeze, and the monthly note in the same Urban Bank app as savings (if you have savings)
• You can visit a Mumbai branch or complete the papers a banker sends after Talk to us

What the account includes

• A personal checking file in your name (or joint, if the sheet allows it)
• Debit on eligible spend, with freeze from the app or the desk
• Holds on cheques or large credits explained in the same hold language as transfers
• A monthly note that lists fees, holds, and any bonus as separate lines

Direct deposit is not required to open checking. It is often required to earn the welcome bonus. Those are two different tests. The sheet marks them separately.

If you are new — the ₹25,000

New personal checking customers may earn up to ₹25,000 when the offer is in force. The amount, the qualifying deposits, and the deadline are on the sheet handed to you — not on a banner from last quarter.

Combined checking-and-savings bonuses are a different offer (Checking with welcome perks). Do not stack headlines. If both could apply, the banker prints one sheet that says which bonus you are in.

The credit posts after the review date. Closing the account early can reverse it. Returned deposits do not count.

What this is not

This is not a business checking page and not a student product unless the sheet names those files. It is not an internet-banking dashboard. You open the account with Urban Bank; the app is the phone door after the file exists.

Overdraft is not automatic. If we offer a buffer, the fee and the opt-in are on the sheet. We will not silently cover a payment and surprise you on the note.

How to start

Ask for Personal Checking at a Mumbai branch or send the contact form. Bring ID and, if you want the bonus, the payroll or deposit details the banker lists. Read the fee box and the bonus rules in that order. Confirm only when both match what you were told.
